17 Weeks

I'm so bad at updating my baby bump blog! I'm lucky to even get my chalkboard done and a photo every week let alone get a blog post done. We are so happy to be in our new house and we are looking forward to having my parents here for a visit in a couple of weeks! It has been so beautiful here and we have loved every minute of exploring our new back yard. On top of that we are just minutes from Shawnigan Lake so this weekend we took the boat out to enjoy Daddy's Day! I just have to say, that being able to stay at home with my little boy has been just the best blessing. Being there to watch him grow up and not miss a minute of his life is just so special to me and I'm so thankful for my hard working husband who makes this possible! Here are some cute photos from our Daddy's Day boat ride!

Speaking of baby bumps....here is how I am feeling this week!

How far along?  17 weeks, 4 daysTotal weight gain:  Well the first five pounds I gained was basically me getting back to my normal weight. Breastfeeding Austin made me lose so much weight and I was so thin that none of my skinny clothes even fit me! So after that, I have gained about 7 pounds.
Maternity clothes? A few old navy maternity tanks and shorts.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I love going to sleep with our window open here. It is just so QUIET!
Best moment this week? Getting to hear our sweet little baby's heartbeat
Miss anything? No, I am feeling so good now. No longer sick in the mornings and no longer dog tired (just normal, running after a toddler tired)
Movement: I am beginning to feel some little flutters and rolls in there!
Food cravings? Sour wine gums
Anything making you queasy or sick? I just feel that way if I'm hungry
Have you started to show yet? Yes. I should really remove this question haha
Gender prediction: Girl
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Finally getting my second ultrasound.

I've also been compiling a list of a few things that we will need for baby number two...stay tuned for that eventually!

Total weight gain:  3 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still just rocking a couple of maternity items. The bloat has finally gone down this week so my tummy isn't as big!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Sleeping great still.
Best moment this week? Realizing that we are only a few more days away from our big move!
Miss anything? Feeling normal in the mornings. I just feel so gross, although I've never actually thrown up.
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings? Fruit and chocolate
Anything making you queasy or sick? Depends on my mood still. Usually just being hungry makes me feel sick.
Have you started to show yet? Yes but the bloating has gone down now so I'm not quite as big.
Gender prediction: Boy
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy happy happy!
Looking forward to: Moving on Friday! Can't wait to move out of our tiny cramped townhouse to a nice new big house and yard!

We are slowly getting our house packed up....with lots of help from grandma thank goodness!  Chasing after Austin is a full time job so packing with him here is definitely challenging. I just can't wait to get up to our new house and unpack! It will be sad to say goodbye to our very first home but we are so excited to move and just have more space! It is getting waaaay too cramped in our townhouse for three people and two dogs...and one more on the way! Wish us luck with our big move!

Surprise!! 13 weeks pregnant!

Surprise!! The Beltons are expecting baby number TWO due November 22, 2014. We are beyond excited, and can't wait for Austin to have a baby brother or sister! Hooray to a very exciting year for our little family!

How far along?  13 weeks
Total weight gain:  3 pounds
Maternity clothes? I'm mainly wearing lulus, jeans with the Bella band, and I did buy some maternity shorts and a couple tops. I'm waiting until we move to break out my maternity stuff from last time.
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Sleeping well except for peeing all the time!
Best moment this week? My husband getting to hear the heartbeat this week for the first time! He missed out on my emergency ultrasound and my first doctors appointment so this was very exciting for him!
Miss anything? Being skinny haha.
Movement: Not yet but I’m getting really excited for that. I've heard you feel it sooner the second time around so I'm hoping for that!
Food Cravings: Pizza, cupcakes, strawberries, and blueberries
Anything making you queasy or sick? Depends on my mood
Have you started to show yet? Yes! Which is about a month sooner than I showed the first time. Which means I had to spill the beans a little sooner than I had hoped! Which also means I'm not going swimming with Austin and daddy until I'm a bit bigger and can rock with bikini without people just thinking I'm fat.
Gender prediction: I think boy. Although I'm not as confident as I was with Austin. Leigh thinks girl because I've been feeling a lot more nauseous than I did with my first pregnancy. BUT they do say every pregnancy is different. We will be happy either way and no we are not finding out the gender until this little one is born! It was such a joy and surprise the first time around and we can't wait to do it again!
Labor signs: No
Belly button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or moody most of the time: So happy, especially after the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat. We’re so glad that everything is going okay after a few bumps in the road.
Looking forward to: Feeling some movement.

This past few weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster ride! We were ecstatic to find out we were expecting again of course but after having some bleeding we were left feeling more stress than anything. But after an emergency ultrasound (which showed I was 3 weeks further along than I thought and a very active baby) and two doctors appointments we were reassured that the spotting was normal and everything was fine. It has definitely left me a lot more on edge though and I have had a harder time enjoying this pregnancy as I'm constantly worried that something bad is going to happen. I was told to just take it easy though (which makes moving in two weeks a bit more difficult!) and not stress....which I'm trying to do. Either way, we are so very excited to give Austin a little brother or sister on or around November 22nd! Wish us luck and pray for us as we go on this amazing journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood once again!

Mama told me there would be days like this...

Wow. You know those days where you wake up and just want to go back to bed until the next day? Ya that was our day today.  5:30am...cue screaming toddler until 6:30am at which time he fell asleep in our bed and proceeded to wake up and cry every 20 or so minutes until 8:15. And that is how our day started....and continued.

Poor little guy is getting his first year molars and you can see the bruising under his gums. At least thats what I'm blaming his bad sleeping on. This is the kid that used to go to bed with only a few whines or whimpers and sleep all night (7-7). Now he is crying for at least a half hour and apparently now waking at 5:30. He also used to do the same for naps and sleep for two hours every day. Today he screamed and screamed until he finally fell asleep. I went to check on him and saw this...
That sight really does make it all worth it. Such a sweet little thing. But then he woke up 20 minutes later and proceeded to be a grump for the rest of the day. Needless to say we got nothing done today but did enjoy lots of snuggles. I will be sad when mommy snuggles don't fix everything anymore. But for now I will cherish it and enjoy every second.

Life does go on and lets hope that we all wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow morning. Tomorrow we are going to go out and find daddy some little Easter treats. What's going to be in my hubby's Easter "basket" this year? Some of his favourite treats (like peanut butter oh henry and mini eggs) as well as this red Blue Jays spring training cap (he already has the blue version). And we are going to stuff it into a six pack of beer (taking three out and putting them in the fridge) with some easter grass and other little nick nacks. I think he'll be surprised that the Easter Bunny visited him as well. Are you getting your significant other a Easter gift?

We are looking forward to Austin's second Easter and spending time with family eating yummy food. Because after all...isn't that what holidays are always about?

What a year it has been!

Wow, okay. Time to update the blog. It has been far too long (six months to be exact) and our little baby isn't such a baby anymore! I will try and update more regularly now but no promises!

It's hard to believe that over a year has passed since our little boy was born. What a joy he has been and continues to be...he is definitely the boss around this house! He is a crawling machine! You cannot turn your back on that little guy or he's off and you have no idea where he is! He just recently started standing on his own and walking is in our near future. My life is about to get a whole lot more hectic....and I wouldn't have it any other way. Being the mom of a 1 year old is trying, tiring (make that exhausting), and hard, but it is so joyful, and worth it! I love being able to stay home with our little boy and watch him develop and grow. I'm so lucky not to be returning to work. Being a stay at home mom is the best thing for our family right now and I know that I will look back and cherish these days with little ones at home.

As if our life isn't hectic enough with dad's crazy work schedule and a VERY busy one year old...we are selling our townhouse! It is time to get into something bigger with a bigger yard for our growing family. We hope to have more little ones one day and we have definitely outgrown this place with three humans and two dogs! Wish us luck on that endeavour.

In other news...there is a serious cold going around right now and we all have it, including Austin. And on top of that he is cutting is molars. Lets just say that daytime sleep is pretty much non existent! Poor little boy. I just hear him coughing away trying to have a nap and he just can't sleep! Hopefully we get over this soon.

We are looking forward to seeing my family for Easter this year. We can't wait to get up there and have an Easter egg hunt and see what the Easter bunny has in store for us this year! Last year Austin was only a few weeks old when Easter rolled around so I am looking forward to stuffing his little basket with some cute surprises for him this year! If you're wondering what to get your one year old this Easter here are some great ideas...

We have gotten Austin some great books by the same author that wrote Good Night Moon (our favourite nap and bedtime book!).

You can find both of these books on Amazon (Home for a Bunny and The Runaway Bunny). Also gracing his Easter basket this year are these adorable Melissa and Doug triangular jumbo crayons and some Crayola My First Stamps for little hands! Both of which can also be found on Amazon (click on the links and it will take you there!).

I plan on filling his little plastic eggs with goldfish crackers, cheerios, and gerber puffs as these are all his favourite too! One more thing I'm hoping to get my hands on for him are some Freshly Picked moccasins. Since seeing this adorable little shoes on Shark Tank I couldn't wait to get some and when I saw they would be bringing some camo ones in I knew that it was just meant to be. Wish me luck in getting some!

What are you getting for your little ones this Easter?
